Description
Summary:Cheiloschisis and palatoschisis are craniofacial anomalies that have been occurring with a high prevalence in newborns; hence the importance of their approach for a correct decision making focused on interdisciplinary interventions that improve the quality of patients who suffer from them and therefore a better functional performance of some compromised systems; the purpose of this work was to perform a scoping review for the approach of pathologies by means of palatorrhaphy and cheilorrhaphy techniques, in which Boolean operators were used through search equations resulting in 1720 articles of which 15 had the potential to respond to the proposed objectives; The interdisciplinary team that participates in the correction of these anomalies includes pediatrics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, plastic, reconstructive and reparative surgery, orthodontist, otorhinolaryngology, rehabilitation, speech therapy and psychology.
