La pregunta por el arte es un asunto que, más que a los propios artistas, ha inquietado a psicólogos, antropólogos, historiadores y, sobre todo, entre muchos otros académicos, a filósofos. Es precisamente desde esta última perspectiva, es decir, desde la filosofía del arte, que se analizará dicha pregunta, tomando como base la mirada del célebre pragmatista norteamericano John Dewey.
