This work seeks to establish not only a parallel between in the behavior of the densities in the urban settlements, formal and informal in origin, but explores the relationships between the characteristics of the neighborhoods, size, location, age, and size of resulting properties and densities, with the aim of reaching some conclusions and recommendations in the use and application thereof. |

This work seeks to establish not only a parallel between in the behavior of the densities in the urban settlements, formal and informal in origin, but explores the relationships between the characteristics of the neighborhoods, size, location, age, and size of resulting properties and densities, with the aim of reaching some conclusions and recommendations in the use and application thereof. Las densidades en los procesos recientes de planificación han sido más el producto de la adecuada o correcta aplicación de las normas, que un principio de organización no sólo del espacio urbano sino de la ocupación del mismo, por parte de grupos de pobladores que, más allá de tratarse de “masas anónimas”, constituyen grupos específicos con tradiciones, usos y relaciones, que generan formas particulares en sus relaciones sociales y en la manera de entender, usar y trasformar el territorio. Este trabajo busca establecer tanto un paralelo en el comportamiento de las densidades en los asentamientos urbanos de origen formal e informal como explorar las relaciones entre las características de los barrios, su tamaño, localización, antigüedad, tamaño de los predios y las densidades resultantes, con el ánimo de llegar a algunas conclusiones y recomendaciones en el uso y aplicación de las mismas.
