El presente artículo de reflexión se pregunta por la posibilidad de que las TIC funcionen como herramientas para la adquisición de competencias comunicativas y para el desarrollo del aprendizaje autónomo. De esta forma, realiza un breve recorrido por el concepto de autonomía y sus relaciones con la moral y el conocimiento; después se concentra en precisar el porqué las TIC sirven a los procesos educativos, mientras pone en claro que primero es necesario aprender a interpretar el lenguaje que las constituye para así poder iniciar procesos formativos.
