Resultant spectrum was composed by 16 taxonomical entities, 2 vegetable fractions and 14 animal fractions; trophic diversity by stomach (H) ranged between 0,5 and 1,23; accumulated trophic diversity (Hk) was 2,9; IRI values were as follows: Belostoma sp. 1241, Arachnida n.i. 1134, Paspalum repens 704, Polygonum accuminatum 574; seasonal trophic niche amplitude was 0,88 (summer), 0,7 (spring), 0,76 (fall), and 0,8 (winter); alimentary efficiency was 97,6%; prey sizes percentage was 66% for organisms ranging from 0 to 10 mm; and average intestinal coefficient was 2,72. Researchers conclude that Porphyrula martinica is an omnivorous species, basically phytophage. |

Se estudió la biología alimentaria de la pollona azul Porphyrula martinica, analizando los contenidos de 13 estómagos a diferentes grados de resolución taxonómica. Se calculó la diversidad trófica por estómago (H) y la diversidad trófica acumulada (Hk). Se aplicó el índice de importancia relativa (IRI). La amplitud trófica del nicho fue estimada según el índice de Levins. Se calculó la eficiencia alimentaria, el porcentaje de presas por tamaño y el coeficiente intestinal (Ri). El espectro resultó integrado por 16 entidades taxonómicas 2 (fracción vegetal) y 14 (fracción animal). La diversidad trófica por estómago (H) osciló entre 0,5 y 1,23. La diversidad trófica acumulada (Hk), dio un valor de 2,99. Los valores del IRI fueron: Belostoma sp. 1241, Arachnida n.i. 1134, Paspalum repens 704, Polygonum accuminatum 574. La amplitud del nicho trófico por estación arrojó un valor de 0,88 para verano, 0,7 para primavera, 0,76 para otoño y 0,8 para invierno. La eficiencia alimentaria brindó un valor del 97,6%. El porcentaje de presas por tamaño, mostró un 66% para organismos que oscilaron entre 0 y 10 mm. El coeficiente intestinal obtenido en promedio fue de 2,72. P. martinica es una especie omnívora básicamente fitófaga.
