Analiza la importancia de las relaciones ciudad-naturaleza, haciendo énfasis en los beneficios ambientales y ecológicos que las especies vegetales aportan a los proyectos arquitectónicos y urbanos, cuando se incluyen como parte de las envolventes arquitectónicas. Los autores proponen una herramienta metodológica constituida por dos componentes: el primero analiza los requerimientos a tener en cuenta para incluir especies vegetales en las envolventes de proyectos arquitectónicos (techos, muros y terrazas verdes); y el segundo, es la matriz para la selección acertada de las especies vegetales a incluir, puesto que mediante una sencilla sumatoria permite visualizar las diferentes especies, con sus respectivos atributos y su puntaje final.
