La descripción euclidiana de la construcción de los sólidos regulares o platónicos en los Elementos es bastante detallada y precisa para cada uno de los cinco casos. No obstante, las dificultades de Euclides para representar figuras espaciales en el plano (faltaban aún muchos años para que se inventara el concepto de perspectiva) son un obstáculo para la fluidez de la lectura. Disponerde avances tecnológicos como Geogebra, por ejemplo, nos permite facilitar esa lectura. En particular, el del icosaedro es uno de los dibujos más difíciles de seguir, razón por la cual le dedicamos este ensayo a esa exposición centrándonos en la figura y manteniendo su esencialidad.
