Este es un artículo de reflexión acerca de la imagen de Bogotá y de cómo ésta, a pesar de haber mejorado gracias a las múltiples intervenciones arquitectónicas y urbanas que se han llevado a cabo durante los últimos veinte años para adaptarla a los cambios generados por su vertiginoso crecimiento, no ha logrado consolidarse como totalidad, debido primordialmente a la exaltación de una estética del fragmento promulgada por los teóricos y a una continua tergiversación de las normas de planificación urbana en busca de lucro individual por parte de los constructores. Esta particular conjunción trae como consecuencia una forma urbana que, contrario a lo que se pretende, parece más fruto del desorden y del caos que de alguna intención urbanística.
