description Digital competence to strengthen teachers' professional development is a matter of great importance that requires cognitive and emotional work and exercise at the personal and collective level. The objective of the research is to evaluate a proposal for teacher training in digital competencies that promotes the strengthening of professional development. The research is being carried out based on a methodology with a mixed descriptive cross-sectional design and is developed with teachers of basic secondary education. This methodology is structured in phases: in phase 1, the systematic literature review and the problem statement were carried out, which includes the low levels of digital competencies by teachers in pedagogical practices; in phase 2, the categorization of previous digital competencies was made with an empirical analysis; in phase 3, the status of digital competencies in teachers is visualized; and in phase 4, the design and evaluation of the training proposal in digital competencies is made. From the research, we seek to improve the pedagogical performance of teachers and the learning process of students.

La competencia digital para fortalecer del desarrollo profesional docente es un asunto de gran importancia que requiere del trabajo y ejercitación cognitiva y emocional en el ámbito personal y colectivo. El objetivo de la investigación es evaluar una propuesta de formación docente en competencias digitales que promueva el fortalecimiento del desarrollo profesional. La investigación se encuentra en ejecución a partir de una metodología con un diseño mixto de corte transversal descriptivo y se desarrolla con docentes de educación básica secundaria. Esta metodología se encuentra estructurada en fases: en la fase 1 se realizó la revisión sistemática de literatura y el planteamiento del problema, que comprende los bajos niveles en competencias digitales por parte de los docentes en las prácticas pedagógicas; en la fase 2 se hizo la  categorización de las competencias digitales previas con un análisis empírico; en la fase 3 se visualiza el estado de la competencia digital en los docentes y en la fase 4 se hace el diseño y evaluación de la propuesta de formación en competencias digitales. A partir de la investigación, se busca mejorar los desempeños pedagógicos de los docentes y el proceso de aprendizaje de los estudiantes.
