Methodology: For this purpose, a quantitative, cross-sectional, descriptive and correlational design was implemented, in which a non-probabilistic and convenience sample was formed. The sample was made up of 121 students of the referred postgraduate course, which is aimed at training managers of educational institutions; who completed a sociodemographic questionnaire, the UWES-SS Scale and the Grit-O Scale; and to evaluate achievement, the final grades obtained by the students in specific subjects of the study syllabus were considered. Results and discussion: Based on the hypotheses proposed, no significant differences were found according to sex; significant and positive correlations were found between some of the subscales that make up the instruments; additionally, it was found that students in the degree program taught online obtained higher values in the variables absorption and global commitment of the UWES-SS Scale; finally, it was found that academic achievement is not directly affected by the teaching modality and by the styles of academic engagement and tenacity obtained through a clúster analysis. Although these results are not extrapolable to similar samples, they serve as ante-cedents to the study of the central constructs addressed in this study.

Introducción: Este estudio se plantea dos objetivos generales: por un lado, analizar cómo el compromiso académico y la tenacidad varían en universitarios de un posgrado impartido con modalidad de enseñanza presencial y en línea en la Universidad Austral (Argentina), e indagar cómo los valores alcanzados por estudiantes en ambos constructos guardan relación con su nivel de rendimiento académico. Metodología: Se implementó un diseño cuantitativo, transeccional, descriptivo y correlacional, en el que se conformó una muestra no probabilística y por conveniencia. Esta se encuentra integrada por 121 estudiantes del posgrado mencionado, con modalidad presencial y en línea, que se dirige a formar directivos de instituciones educativas. La muestra completó un cuestionario sociodemográfico, la escala UWES-SS y la escala Grit-O, y para evaluar el rendimiento, se consideraron las calificaciones finales alcanzadas por los alumnos en determinadas materias del plan de estudios. Resultados y discusión: A partir de las hipótesis planteadas, no se encontraron diferencias significativas según el sexo; sí se hallaron correlaciones significativas y positivas entre algunas de las subescalas que integran los instrumentos; asimismo, se encontró que los alumnos de la carrera impartida con modalidad en línea obtuvieron valores más elevados en las variables absorción y compromiso global de la escala UWES-SS; finalmente, se comprobó que el rendimiento académico no se ve afectado directamente por la modalidad de enseñanza y por los estilos de compromiso académico y de tenacidad obtenidos a través de un análisis de clúster. Si bien estos resultados no son extrapolables a muestras similares, sirven de antecedentes al estudio de los constructos centrales abordados.
