Sumario:Citizenship education is presented as a collective imperative that affects both individuals and society as a whole, being fundamental for integral development in the current era. In the Colombian context, this is an urgent challenge, particularly influential in the educational processes of schools, colleges and universities. This article analyzes the inquiry on the social representations of teachers in relation to the understanding, assimilation and experience of citizenship education, highlighting its impact on the formation of students and their projection as citizens of the future
