This is proposed to know the relationship between these two constructs. The sample is made up of teenagers, tenth grade students (10) and eleventh (11) (Colombian higschool) of a Public Institution from Bogotá. The correlation between the results of the Family Functioning Scale FACES III (Olson, 2000, Olson, Russell and Sprenkle, 1989), and the behaviors evaluated by the Youth Self-Report (YSR) (Achenbach Edelbrock and Howell 1987). For this reason, a descriptive analysis of the sociodemographic variables has been carried out in order to characterize the sample; semans frequency analysis of family typologies, of internalizing and externalizing behaviors. Likewise, the correlations between the dimensions of family functioning and the internalized and externalized behaviors were calculated. The purpose is to measure and analyze the dimensions in which students are located, both at the behavioral and family level; due to this, the theoretical revision of concepts such as family, family types, internal and external behaviors, in teenagers and regarding the theoretical content has been taken into account. Other authors and ideas of theories have also been taken into account in order to deepen the subject.

Con este estudio correlacional de enfoque cuantitativo, se pretende describir la relación de las dimensiones de cohesión y flexibilidad (adaptabilidad) familiar, con los comportamientos internalizantes y externalizantes del autoreporte YSR. Se propone conocer la relación entre estos dos constructos. La muestra está conformada por adolescentes, estudiantes de grados decimo (10) y once (11) de una Institución Distrital Educativa de la ciudad de Bogotá. Se pretende establecer la correlación que existe entre los resultados de la Escala del funcionamiento familiar FACES III (Olson, 2000; Olson, Russell y Sprenkle, 1989), y los comportamientos que evalúa el Youth SelfReport (YSR) (Achenbach Edelbrock y Howell 1987). Para tal fin, se efectuaron análisis descriptivos de las variables sociodemográficas con el fin de caracterizar la muestra; se realizaron análisis de frecuencias de las tipologías familiares, de los comportamientos internalizantes y externalizantes. Así mismo, se calcularon las correlaciones entre las dimensiones del funcionamiento familiar y los comportamientos internalizados y externalizados. El propósito es medir y analizar las dimensiones en las que se ubican los estudiantes, tanto a nivel comportamental como familiar; para este fin, se ha tenido en cuenta la revisión teórica de conceptos como familia, tipos de familia y comportamientos internalizantes y externalizantes, en los adolescentes y lo concerniente al contenido teórico. También se ha tenido en cuenta a otros autores e ideas de teorías con el fin de profundizar en el tema.
