Un incremento significativo en la tenencia de mascotas está en auge, gatos y perros cómo animales de compañía representan el mayor número en esta tendencia. Las enfermedades que afectan a estas especies son diversas y estudios significativos en las diferentes áreas del conocimiento de la medicina veterinaria son necesarios para contrarrestar las patologías que estas presentan. La anatomía cómo ciencia, establece las bases para otras asignaturas cómo la fisiología y patología, así pues, este estudio desarrollado en el gato doméstico determinó a través de una técnica anatómica de represión vascular con látex neopreno en dos cuerpos; que el patrón vascular del corazón es similar al reportado en el perro.
