Summary:The recharge process of the Santa Marta aquifer has been studied by using various models such as the geological, hydrological, hydraulic, and hydrogeochemical models. Isotopic techniques have been used to confirm the origin of the recharge waters, which helped validate the recharge forms. For Santa Marta aquifer, it has been confirmed that the Manzanares River is the primary source of recharge for the recent alluvial deposits (Qal). Young waters have been confirmed by tritium analyzes, showing a similar isotopic fingerprint of oxygen and deuterium in both the aquifer and the river. T
