Results: It was possible to propose intervention strategies of the speech – language pathologist for adults and pediatrics, focused on interpersonal communication, being intervened from the categories of communication for adjustment to change, communication to meet needs, communication for the need to simplify, communication to deliver and receive gratitude, communication for regret, communication for end-of-life support, being transversal communication for multidisciplinary work, in order to alleviate the suffering of the terminally ill patient in palliative care

Metodología: La investigación se realizó bajo la metodología de una revisión integrativa de la literatura, de alcance descriptivo y retrospectivo, centrada en los parámetros establecidos por Whittemore.
