El proyecto de grado se realiza mediante la modalidad de pasantía que se enfoca en los aportes que como ingenieros civiles en proceso de formación puedan contribuir en una empresa pública o privada, en este caso pública como lo es la Alcaldía de Sogamoso. En donde se aborda un proyecto que es la rehabilitación de la estructura de pavimento de la carrera 23 entre calles 5 y 5a y la calle 5a entre carreras 23 y 24. Esto implica contribuir en tareas tanto técnicas como administrativas en los procedimientos de avance de la construcción, en estricto cumplimiento de los diseños aprobados y las modificaciones correspondientes. Entre estas labores se incluye la generación de informes detallados que reflejen el presupuesto ejecutado, así como la realización de ensayos de densidad nuclear para verificar la densidad de los materiales utilizados en la subbase y la base granular.
