description	The present investigation entitled "THE CUSTOMS INTERNAL CONTROL AND ITS CONNECTION WITH THE HIGH SMUGGLING RATE IN COLOMBIA", will try to contribute to the problem in the fight against the high levels of smuggling that the country has been going through for years and that places it in the 91st place out of 180 in the scale of countries with the most transparent perception index, by studying the internal control of the customs offices and all its processes and regulations; The above is in order to find or discover any inaccuracies or weaknesses in customs that may be promoting this situation. The research topic will delve into the impact that the above mentioned problems have in the country and the inaccuracies that may have the internal control and risk control that is carried out in customs; in turn, it seeks to find a connection between the above mentioned and the high rate of smuggling throughout the Colombian territory, wanting to make proposals for improvement and reduce unfair competition in the market. This documentary research intends to encourage good practices and the correct way of importing or exporting merchandise from outside the country legally and without the intention of evading or persuading customs taxes, significantly affecting the Colombian economy.

La presente investigación titulada “EL CONTROL INTERNO ADUANERO Y SU RELACIÓN CON EL ALTO ÍNDICE DE CONTRABANDO EN COLOMBIA”, tratará de aportar a la problemática en la lucha contra los altos niveles de contrabando que por años ha atravesado el país y que lo sitúa en el lugar 91 de 180 en la escala de países con el índice de percepción más transparente, estudiando el control interno de las oficinas aduaneras y todos sus procesos y regulaciones; lo anterior es con el fin de encontrar o descubrir cualquier inexactitud o punto débil en las aduanas que pueda estar promoviendo esta situación. El tema de investigación ahondará en el impacto que en el país tiene la problemática planteada anteriormente y en las inexactitudes que pueda tener el control interno y el control de riesgos que se lleva a cabo en las aduanas; a su vez, busca encontrar una relación entre lo mencionado y el alto índice de contrabando existente en todo el territorio colombiano, queriendo realizar propuestas de mejora y minorar la competencia desleal en el mercado. Esta investigación documental pretende incentivar las buenas prácticas y la correcta forma de importar o exportar la mercancía del exterior del país legalmente y sin la intención de evadir o persuadir los impuestos aduaneros, afectando significativamente la economía colombiana.
