Las empresas familiares, son un tipo de organización muy común en Colombia, en la mayoría de los casos se crean, por el conocimiento en determinada actividad, servicio o realización de un producto, entre otras. Este tipo de organización, aunque en un principio se caracterizan por la unión y los mismos ideales de la familia, con el tiempo y debido a las diferentes opiniones, cambios y formas de ver el negocio, se toman decisiones poco estratégicas que hacen que estas empresas comiencen a carecer de liquidez; por consiguiente, se recurre a incrementar el endeudamiento y no se tiene en cuenta el costo de oportunidad del negocio. Por otro lado, el sector transporte tiene un papel fundamental en el desarrollo de un país, pues este permite crecer la economía y determina la competitividad y desarrollo de la región.
