description	Although online education provided a temporary solution to ensure educational continuity in emergency situations during Covid- 19, this research aimed to analyze the social representations of students in virtual and then face-to-face education. the findings reveal that, students' social representations according to distance education are characterized by lack of motivation, the feeling of not having learned anything, lack of support from teachers in the virtual environment and a negative view of online classes. In addition, social representations of their academic performance reflect the perception of not meeting their own expectations, resulting in low grades that reinforce dissatisfaction about their personal achievements and learning progress. In contrast, students report more optimistic social representations and greater support from teachers in the face-to-face environment, where they feel they are in an environment conducive to learning, as well as a better use of time and greater motivation to execute the educational process, progressively raising their academic performance. in this sense, the research determined that there are still areas that need to be improved to raise the quality of virtual education in case of future similar events, among them, teaching methodologies, the strengthening of virtual platforms and greater dynamization of academic content.

Aunque la educación en línea proporcionó una solución temporal para garantizar la continuidad educativa en situaciones de emergencia durante el Covid- 19, esta investigación se planteó como objetivo analizar las representaciones sociales de los estudiantes en educación virtual y posteriormente presencial. los hallazgos revelan que, las representaciones sociales de los estudiantes según la educación a distancia se caracterizan por la falta de motivación, la sensación de no haber aprendido nada, la falta de apoyo por parte de los docentes en el entorno virtual y una visión negativa de las clases en línea. Además, las representaciones sociales de su rendimiento académico reflejan la percepción de no cumplir con sus propias expectativas, lo que resulta en calificaciones bajas que refuerzan la insatisfacción sobre sus logros personales y su progreso en el aprendizaje. En contraste, los estudiantes reportan representaciones sociales más optimistas y un mayor apoyo por parte de los docentes en el entorno presencial, donde se sienten en un ambiente propicio para el aprendizaje, además destacan un mayor aprovechamiento del tiempo y una mayor motivación para ejecutar el proceso educativo, elevando de manera progresiva su desempeño académico. En este sentido la investigación determino que, aún existen áreas que deben ser mejoradas para elevar la calidad de la educación virtual en caso de futuros eventos similares, entre ella, las metodologías de enseñanza, el fortalecimiento de plataformas virtuales y una mayor dinamización de los contenidos académicos.
