| Sumario: | This research sought to describe the levels of depressive and anxious symptoms in
adolescents from the Teófilo Roberto Potes Educational Institution, Buenaventura, from a
quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional methodology, for which a sample of 197
students was taken, who are in middle adolescence between 14 to 18 years. As instruments
for the measurement of said symptomatology of Anxiety and depression in the participating
adolescents, the BDI-II and the BAI, by Beck, were used. The relevance of this study is
found in describing the psychological conditions in which school students find themselves,
thus contributing to addressing the problem of the armed conflict that is being experienced
in Buenaventura. The results showed in severe depression with a total of 24 women in a
percentage of 77.4% and 7 men with 22.6% in the ages 15 to 18 years and in severe anxiety
with 32 women with 88.9% and 4 men in 11.1% between the ages of 14 and 18 where it can
be seen that women are more prone to suffering from depression and anxiety. |
