Sumario:This paper analyzes the impact of the application of the theoretical approach to problem solving through challenging problems and encouraging the study of least common multiple, greatest common factor and criteria for divisibility in grades sevenths of the district school Rodrigo Lara Bonilla. Is considered essential be based motivational approach John Keller that fits perfectly with troubleshooting. Activities are designed unusual, these are outside the traditional curriculum, they implemented two groups of 45 students each, generating challenging questions, making it possible for students to use their creativity and ingenuity to develop, the possibility is provided to discuss them in teams resulting in a determinant in the process of learning, these activities are designed with the aim to generate a high motivational level students, the difficulty is increased with each activity. This investigation arises with the additional objective of open spaces for new meanings, generating an increase in academic performance classes and develop different cognitive, metacognitive and social skills.
