Description
Summary:Bayes' theorem is dealt with in Biostatistics courses in Medical Careers, but its presentation follows the guidelines of Statistics books and in general it is not linked to the problems of medical practice in the context of Information-Based Medicine. Evidence. In this sense, the improvement of the subject of Probabilities is imposed, in the course of Biostatistics in Medicine. In the research, a didactic model is implemented to strengthen the teaching-learning process of Bayes' theorem, in the medical students of the Antonio Nariño University, within the framework of applications to diagnostic tests in the context of Medicine Based on the evidence. With the didactic proposal based on the model, it is possible to: increase the number of students who correctly use Bayes' theorem and the total probability; create conceptual networks to improve skills in the use of probabilities; facilitate the creation of mechanisms where students formulate heuristics to solve practical problems in the context of medicine and prepare students to improve clinical decisions, based on a knowledge of the possibilities of applying Bayes' theorem in the process of clinical diagnosis.
