Objetivo: Describir las complicaciones oculares asociadas al implante de lentes intraoculares fáquicos en las diferentes ametropías en pacientes adultos por medio de una revisión de la literatura científica. Metodología: Se realizó una revisión de la literatura, donde se analizaron bases de datos como Scopus, Pubmed, ScienceDirect y Scielo, estudios en humanos publicados entre el año 2018 hasta 2022. Resultados: El implante de los lentes intraoculares fáquicos causa complicaciones como: la pérdida de células endoteliales, disminución de la presión intraocular (PIO), cambios en la malla trabecular, glaucoma avanzado de dispersión pigmentario, agujero macular, aniridia traumática, desprendimiento de retina en pacientes miopes o catarata. Conclusiones: El implante de un LIOf es una buena opción de tratamiento, con un porcentaje alto de tasa de éxito y un índice muy bajo de complicaciones oculares después de su implantación, sin embargo, la pérdida de células endoteliales en implantes de LIOf de cámara anterior, son una de las complicaciones más frecuentes y en implantes de cámara posterior, la complicación más frecuente fue la producción de cataratas.
