Objective: To carry out a systematic review to identify the most recurrent oral lesions in patients with removable and total partial dentures. Materials and methods: Systematic review study to identify the most frequent oral lesions in removable and total prostheses. Results: the most common lesions due to the use of prostheses correspond to prosthetic stomatitis and candidiasis. Conclusions: Aspects such as poor oral and appliance hygiene lead to the formation of microorganisms that lead to the appearance of oral lesions.

Introducción: El uso de prótesis dentales puede originar diferentes respuestas de la mucosa oral debidas tanto a factores mecánicos como a factores químicos e incluso microbiológicos, que se traducen en lesiones las cuales pueden aparecer y evolucionar tanto de forma aguda como crónica. Objetivo: Realizar una revisión sistemática para identificar las lesiones orales más recurrentes en pacientes que presentan prótesis parciales removibles y totales. Materiales y métodos: Estudio de revisión sistemática, en la cual se busca identificar las lesiones orales de mayor frecuencia en prótesis removibles y totales. Resultados: las lesiones mas comunes a causa del uso de prótesis corresponden a Estomatitis protésica y candidiasis. Conclusiones: Aspectos como mala higiene tanto oral como del aparato conllevan a la formación de microorganismos que conllevaba a la aparición de lesiones orales.
