collected from the three foundations, of which 48 were from the Animal Life Foundation, 31
from the Come Dog Foundation, while no one was found in the Animal Protection Foundation.

Durante los meses de febrero hasta mayo del año 2022 se realizó una investigación sobre la identificación y frecuencia de garrapatas Spp en caninos en tres fundaciones del municipio de Popayán; de una población total (150 animales) de dichas fundaciones, se tomó una muestra de 30 animales a los cuales en forma individual se los revisó por toda la superficie corporal desde la oreja hasta la punta de la cola si contaban con infestación de garrapatas, además del conteo se tomaron y se ubicaran en un frasco de boca ancha con alcohol etílico al 70% todas las garrapatas recolectadas de los caninos seleccionadas , las muestras fueron transportadas al laboratorio de parasitología de la universidad Antonio Nariño para la identificación correspondiente y asi obtener los resultados. Recolectadas las garrapatas se analizaron y se clasificaron de acuerdo al género, en total en las tres fundaciones se recolectaron 79 garrapatas de las cuales 48 eran de la Fundación vida animal, 31 de la fundación come dog, mientras en la fundación protección animal no se encontró ninguna garrapata. En lo que respecta a la frecuencia de garrapatas en caninos en las tres fundaciones, se observó en la fundación animal una infestación fue del 66.6% (20) , de la fundación come dog del 63.3% (19), mientras en la fundación protección animal fue del 0 %.
