efforts and emotional exhaustion as a result of the "primary caregiver syndrome".
The interest in the development of this degree project is related to the experience
prior, as a motivating axis to relate Industrial Design with the areas of oncology
and nutrition and dietetics. Professional interest in developing a strategy with
relation of Food Design applied to the medical sector and the approach of a ramification
methodology that allows linking health sectors with objective developments in the
palliative care; the academic contribution will focus on breaking paradigms and
skepticism about the acceptance of new methodological proposals in fields that
require the input of Industrial design. |

El presente trabajo de grado, enfoca su investigación en el estudio de los pacientes terminales relacionados con patologías de Cáncer y las incidencias que esta enfermedad tiene en el desarrollo de su calidad de vida. Las características que poseen los pacientes terminales están determinadas por los estadios de funcionalidad que miden la independencia con relación a un cuidador primario; las causas que generan esta problemática están relacionadas con el tratamiento de la enfermedad (quimioterapia), que posee una alta toxicidad y daña el estado emocional; y la otra, a los factores degenerativos de la misma enfermedad. Por otro lado, se encuentra el cuidador primario, que también ve afectado el desarrollo de su vida cotidiana por los esfuerzos y el desgaste emocional como resultado del “síndrome de cuidador primario”. El interés por el desarrollo de este proyecto de grado tiene relación con la experiencia previa, como eje motivador para relacionar el Diseño Industrial con las áreas de oncología y nutrición y dietética. Es pertinente el interés profesional en desarrollar una estrategia con relación del Food Design aplicada al sector médico y el planteamiento de una ramificación metodológica que permita enlazar sectores de la salud con desarrollos objetuales en el cuidado paliativo; el aporte académico, se centralizará en romper paradigmas y escepticismos acerca de la aceptación de nuevas propuestas metodológicas en campos que requieren el aporte del diseño Industrial.
