Sumario: | Currently, the internationalization of higher education together with the processes of accreditation of programs and institutions stand as important challenges for the educational administration and
the curricular management of HEIs. UNESCO in its most recent orientation for the reinvention of higher education has raised these two perspectives as fundamental axes to achieve quality, relevant
and avant-garde education, which leads to the development of nations, innovation in teachinglearning processes and the consolidation of a global citizenship. In this context, this research aims
to identify, within the framework of the internationalization of education, those dimensions of international accreditation that must be implemented in Colombia for the improvement and
projection of higher education institutions. For this purpose, a systematic review is made of the literature published in Latin America in relevant scientific bases within the educational field during
the last ten years: 2012-2022. The results show the importance for HEIs to incorporate into their administrative and curricular processes the accreditation by international agencies that strengthen
quality assurance mechanisms, while providing confidence in the continuous improvement work carried out by HEIs. institutions |
