Electronic methods have recently been introduced that allow knowing when and at what time the patient acquires the medication. The measurement of adherence is not easy and it is necessary to use several methods at the same time to avoid overestimating the results

Es pertinente tener en cuenta que la adherencia se encauza hacia dos fines: La eficacia de la aplicación del instrumento de medición y la continuidad para disminuir el tiempo del tratamiento. Uno de los instrumentos de medición de la adherencia son las bases de datos, allí están consignados los tiempos de asistencia a las citas, prescripciones dadas por el especialista. El instrumento universitario para la medición de la adherencia en pacientes que asisten a clínicas de ortodoncia (IUMACO), motivo de esta investigación, puede ser el más efectivo al momento de evaluar los resultados. Recientemente se han introducido los métodos electrónicos que permiten conocer cuándo y a qué hora el paciente adquiere la medicación.
