| Summary: | This research work is developed due to some of the most important problems currently
facing the department of Huila. The most recent case is the construction of the El Quimbo
Hydroelectric Reservoir owned by the multinational Emgesa. The dam project brought
economic, social, environmental and cultural difficulties. The affected peasants were relocated to
different developed settlements, which ultimately failed to offer them a good quality of life and a
continuity of their economic activities that depended on agriculture. On the other hand,
participatory architecture has proven to be useful when facing problems of this type where, after
an intervention and subsequent compensation, the needs of the affected people are not adequately
satisfied. In this way, the following research question is posed: ¿How would the implementation
of participatory architecture improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of the Santiago
resettlement and palace in Garzón - Huila? |
