| Sumario: | The municipality of Tocancipá is located in the zone denominated as Sabana Centro of the upper
basin of Bogotá river, it has become a spot of agricultural and industrial development in the
region. The sustainability of this growth requires foreseeing the identification of new sources for
the supply of water that guarantee the amount in the face of demand, in this sense, the underground
water resource emerges as a viable alternative for this purpose. Geological, hydrological,
hydraulic and hydrogeochemical studies support the proposed conceptual hydrogeological model,
which concludes that the Suesca - Teusacá syncline offers favorable conditions for the storage of
water in the Sabana, Cacho, Arenisca Sabana and Tierna, Arenisca Dura formations. |
