description	Can the medical history and physical examination be a sufficient source of data in the medical diagnosis? This question is not new and the pressure is increasing to put aside clinical evaluation to use techniques that can demonstrate functional or morphological alterations in an early and detailed way, but that are expensive and require high technology. Medical educators have reflected on the effect of this situation on the human quality of the service provided and on the containment of health costs with greater emphasis on the current conditions derived from the pandemic; concluding that it is a priority to rescue the use of clinical skills. These have in visual observation a fundamental input of the physical examination that can generate relevant data for the diagnosis, but there is evidence of their limited development during medical studies. Several medical schools have found a novel and successful way to include educational strategies based on visual art. In our country there is no documentation of the use of similar activities, so the present exploratory study and approach was proposed quasi-experimental with cross-sectional design, aimed at strengthening the visual observation skills of medical students through a learning strategy using art

Esta pregunta no es nueva y cada vez es mayor la presión por dejar de lado la evaluación clínica para utilizar técnicas que puedan demostrar las alteraciones funcionales o morfológicas en forma precoz y detallada, pero que son costosas y requieren alta tecnología. Los educadores médicos han reflexionado sobre el efecto de esta situación en la calidad humana del servicio prestado y en la contención del costo en salud con mayor énfasis en las condiciones actuales derivadas de la pandemia; concluyendo que es prioritario rescatar el uso de las habilidades clínicas. Estas tienen en la observación visual un insumo fundamental del examen físico que puede generar datos relevantes para el diagnóstico, pero existen evidencias de su limitado desarrollo durante los estudios de medicina. Varias escuelas médicas han encontrado una forma novedosa y con buenos resultados al incluir estrategias educativas basadas en el arte visual.
