El presente artículo esboza el desarrollo de un algoritmo de visión de máquina, el cual emplea la conversión del espacio de color RGB de la imagen del rostro de una persona, al espacio de color YCbCr. Mediante análisis del histograma de la componente Cr, se logra calcular un umbral adecuado para la umbralización y segmentación de la región del labio.
