Enterococcus faecalis es un coco Gram positivo, facultativo anaerobio, resistente por naturaleza y capaz de sobrevivir a una amplia gama de condiciones hostiles y persistir en el medio ambiente durante largos períodos ocasionando fracasos en los tratamientos endodónticos.
