Sumario: | The following work aims to interpret the influence of social support on treatment adherence
in patients of the Nephroprotection program of the Asocabildos IPSI Clinic in the municipality of
Maicao, due to Chronic Noncommunicable Diseases (CNCD) (diabetes and cardiovascular
diseases, among others) as a global pandemic, since, according to their report, the first cause of
death is cardiovascular disease, followed by cancer and thirdly by diabetes (World Health
Organization - Non communicable Diseases –NCD- Country profiles, 2014). In addition to the
efforts made by health entities, adherence for some patients remains difficult to manage and to
comply with.
In the same way, the qualitative methodology was used since reality was assumed as the
construction of social interaction, using the phenomenological method strategy and where it was
found that social support is strongly linked to adherence to treatment since according to the
participants They stated that they felt good thanks to the treatments, but also thanks to the
support network they have (family, friends, neighbors, health entities, among others.).
It should be noted that using the phenomenological method strategy and using the semi
structured and in-depth interview resulted in the obtaining of 30 codes which made it possible to
delve much deeper into the aspects related to social support and treatment adherence of each
patient. |
