Sumario:A patient must understand his ocular pathology, in order to understand how the visual disturbances that are being generated are presented, according to the ocular condition that he presents. To generate an adequate treatment and by following the expectations of the patients, it is always necessary to consider their visual condition, to set possible and fixed goals, which can be achieved through the rehabilitation of low vision, blindness, and to improve ocular health. Currently, it is essential, the delivery of information by the health professional since when a patient does not have an adequate understanding or knowledge of their visual condition, the possibility of success in the treatment to which they are going through may be affected. All the alterations generated by an ocular condition that produce low vision and blindness can affect how a patient is socially and their coexistence with their families. It also affects how they participate, as well as how they move from one place to another, how they drive and read.
