Sumario: | The present study aimed to design and implement an intervention program, «Accepting
the present and transforming the future», based on Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT)
to reduce withdrawal related anxiety in women undergoing rehabilitation for substance use
disorders at an IPS in Santa Marta.
The research included 20 women and used a quasi-experimental design with Pre-test
and Post-test measurements to assess anxiety levels and psychology flexibility before and after
the intervention. The results showed a significant decrease in state-trait anxiety levels, as well
as improvements in emotional acceptance and management.
Most participants experienced a considerable reduction in withdrawal-related anxiety,
transitioning from high to moderate and low levels, confirming the program's effectiveness in
the short term. These findings highlighted the potential of ACT as a valuable tool in the
rehabilitation process of women with substance dependence. |
