Summary:	The El Cocuy National Natural Park has over 12 snow-capped peaks, with altitudes exceeding 5000 meters above sea level, making it the highest point in the Colombian Andes. It has become a popular tourist destination for mountaineering, climbing, and trekking. However, the challenging terrain, high altitude gradients, and changing weather conditions increase the likelihood of accidents. Rescue operations in remote areas are complex and require precise planning. Currently, there is limited information on the most efficient rescue routes, which can lead to increased response times in emergencies. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) could be valuable tools for facilitating rescue route planning.
