Sumario: | The present research aims to analyze the relationship between family functionality and
social skills manifested by 8th and 9th grade students of the Institución Educativa Ecológica del
Carmen in Riohacha, La Guajira. Based on Olson's theory of family dynamics, a quantitative
approach was used, applying the Family Adaptability and Cohesion Evaluation Scale-IV (FACES
IV) to assess family functionality and the Social Skills Checklist to measure students' social
