Sumario: | This research aimed to analyze the perception of obstetric violence and its emotional
impact on first-time pregnant women in the municipality of Uribia. Obstetric violence is
recognized as a form of mistreatment that goes beyond the physical, deeply affecting the
emotional well-being of women during and after childbirth. Using a qualitative approach, the
study was based on in-depth interviews with women who shared their personal experiences in
local healthcare centers. From a theoretical perspective, the research views obstetric violence as a
phenomenon that violates women's fundamental rights and alters their perception of motherhood.
Findings revealed that the lack of emotional support and dehumanizing treatment led to feelings of
fear, sadness, and anxiety, which influence future decisions regarding motherhood. |
