Description
Summary:Abstract: The project proposes to conduct a road safety audit of the stretch of road that connects Cavasa with the municipality of Candelaria, in Valle del Cauca, specifically between kilometers 0+000 and 6+000. This analysis is justified by the high accident rates in the region, which have led to the need to evaluate and improve road conditions in order to prevent loss of human lives. The audit focuses on diagnosing the dangerousness of the road corridor, taking into account factors such as accessibility, safety and travel time. It is argued that an adequate road condition not only favors the mobilization of people, but also contributes to social welfare and the reduction of accidents. The project considers the continuous evaluation of road infrastructures to be crucial in order to implement improvement plans that respond to the needs found. In addition, the roles of the actors involved in the process are established: the client, who selects and supervises the project; the design team, in charge of implementing the recommendations; and the audit team, which evaluates safety conditions and proposes improvements. The conceptual framework is supported by road safety audit guidelines, emphasizing the importance of these studies as preventive tools in transportation engineering. Ultimately, the proposal seeks to ensure a safe, accessible and efficient road environment, benefiting the community and contributing to the social and economic development of the region.
