This process began with a complete diagnosis, which included the collection of data on road
accidents, the analysis of the existing infrastructure and the evaluation of the community's
perceptions on road safety.
A survey was conducted and priority intervention areas were established, such as road
infrastructure, road safety education and traffic control. Specific plans and actions were created to
address each of these areas. The necessary resources were allocated to carry out the plan,
considering budgetary and personnel aspects, as well as inter-institutional collaboration.
This work demonstrates that the creation of a local road safety plan is essential to promote safety
and accident prevention at the municipal level and highlights the importance of the active
participation of the community, local authorities, organizations and road safety experts to achieve
sustainable and successful road safety results.
Implementation is carried out gradually, with continuous monitoring of actions and periodic
evaluations of results. During the evaluation phase, the achievements, lessons learned and areas
for improvement were highlighted, allowing the necessary changes to be made to improve the
effectiveness of the plan. |

Resumen: La creación del Plan Local de Seguridad Vial de Marsella, Risaralda, es una respuesta a la creciente preocupación por la siniestralidad y la necesidad de mejorar las condiciones de movilidad en el municipio. Este proceso comenzó con un diagnóstico completo, que incluyó la recopilación de datos sobre accidentes viales, el análisis de la infraestructura existente y la evaluación de las percepciones de la comunidad sobre la seguridad en las vías. Se realizo una encuesta y se establecieron áreas de intervención prioritarias, como infraestructura vial, educación vial y control de tráfico. Para abordar cada una de estas áreas, se crearon planes y acciones específicos. Se asignaron los recursos necesarios para llevar a cabo el plan, considerando aspectos presupuestales y de personal, así como la colaboración interinstitucional. Este trabajo demuestra que la creación de un plan local de seguridad vial es esencial para promover la seguridad y la prevención de accidentes en el ámbito municipal y destaca la importancia de la participación activa de la comunidad, las autoridades locales, las organizaciones y los expertos en seguridad vial para lograr resultados de seguridad vial sostenibles y exitosos. La implementación se lleva a cabo gradualmente, con un seguimiento continuo de las acciones y evaluaciones periódicas de los resultados.
