Introducción: este artículo recoge el devenir histórico de la educación en derechos humanos (EDH) en Colombia. Metodología: la investigación surge de estudios e investigaciones nacionales e internacionales que la han tomado como objeto de análisis. Resultados y discusión: de acuerdo con lo encontrado, existen cuatro grandes tendencias investigativas en las que la producción académica se ha centrado: a) devenir histórico de los derechos humanos y la EDH, b) propuestas metodológicas para la EDH, c) enseñanza de los derechos humanos y algunas relaciones necesarias y d) presencia de los derechos humanos en la escuela.
