El presente artículo pretende revisar los monumentos exhibidos en las calles de la ciudad de Bogotá que hacen alegoría o se relacionan con la Independencia colombiana, con el fin de analizar no sólo la significación que ellos tienen a la luz de la recordación de dicho evento y la construcción de memoria histórica, sino también el contexto histórico en que fueron erigidos, así como también a los artistas que los crearon.
