In Colombia, the automated system SICAIPAV 11 is developed for collecting three dimensional data of paved roads using a class IIIB laser projector. Maintain safety of operators and bystanders, and comply with Colombian law occupational safety and welfare are an indis­pensable requirement surveying in the field. This paper presents the design and implementation of a control electronic system for on-off laser projector automatic system using ultrasonic sensors, an encoder and an Arduino de­velopment board. The control system is coupled on the back of a vehicle and allows turned on or off the laser depending on the vehicle speed or proximity of people within an area approximately 3 m2. Finally, experimen­tal tests demonstrate the effectiveness of the system, with coverage of 52,9% of the area of risk and delay times 1,13 S.

Los sistemas automáticos de inspección de pavimentos utilizan la tecnología láser para el levantamiento de daños en pavimento generando imágenes en tercera dimensión de alta precisión. Sin embargo, dependiendo de la categoría del láser puede causar daños físicos a personas o animales. En Colombia, se desarrolla el sistema automático SICAIPAV II para la recolección de datos tridimensionales de vías pavimentadas que utiliza un proyector láser clase IIIB. Mantener la seguridad de los operarios y de las personas circundantes, y cumplir la normatividad colombiana de seguridad ocupacional y bienestar, son un requisito indispensable para el levantamiento en campo. En este documento se presenta el diseño y la implementación de un sistema electrónico para el control on-off del proyector láser del sistema automático mediante sensores de ultrasonido, un codificador y una tarjeta de desarrollo Arduino. El sistema de control se acopla en la parte posterior de un vehículo y permite apagar o encender el láser dependiendo de la velocidad del automotor o la proximidad de las personas dentro de un área aproximada de 3 m^2.
