Thus, and as a product of reflections from the training in psychology and the own experience as a drag performer, an approach is made to the understanding of drag practice and performativity as an artistic-political act through which discourses, populations and controversial, censored, forbidden, rejected or unspeakable themes are criticized, expressed, made visible and given rise to, adopting both a transforming, subversive and identitarian function of the social world and individuals, as well as a possible element promoting individual and collective mental health. |

La aparición del fenómeno drag, y su continuo crecimiento global gracias a los medios masivos de comunicación, implica reflexionar, a partir de una perspectiva crítica, los aspectos artístico-políticos que le componen, así como de sus posibles implicaciones para los individuos y el mundo social. Así, y producto de reflexiones a partir de la formación en psicología y la propia experiencia como drag, se realiza una aproximación a la comprensión de la práctica y performatividad drag como un acto artístico-político mediante el cual se crítica, expresa, visibiliza y da lugar a discursos, poblaciones y temáticas polémicas, censuradas, prohibidas, rechazadas o indecibles, adoptando tanto una función transformadora, subversiva e identitaria del mundo social e individuos, así como un posible elemento promotor de la salud mental individual y colectiva. O surgimento do fenômeno do drag, e seu contínuo crescimento global graças aos meios de comunicação de massa, implica refletir, de uma perspectiva crítica, os aspectos artístico-políticos que o compõem, assim como suas possíveis implicações para os indivíduos e o mundo social.
