The carbon quantum dots were characterized using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, UV-Vis spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, revealing their physicochemical properties, morphology, chemical composition, and crystalline structure the efficacy of carbon quantum dots in degrading the dyes was assessed via ultraviolet visible spectroscopy, demonstrating their ability to reduce dye concentrations.
