El presente estudio tuvo como propósito indagar sobre los significados de maternidad y crianza de un grupo de mujeres que ejercen el trabajo sexual de la localidad de Santa Fe de la ciudad de Bogotá. Se consideró importante indagar sobre el trabajo sexual puesto que es una realidad que, en ocasiones, se vincula con aspecto como la maternidad y la crianza de los hijos, por lo tanto debe seguir siendo investigada. El modelo teórico en el que se respalda la investigación es el construccionismo social, puesto que los significados se construyen por medio del lenguaje en las relaciones con el contexto, además la historia también hace parte de la construcción de la realidad. Se realiza una investigación descriptiva, de corte cualitativo, ya que proporciona información sobre las participantes y permite una aproximación a la comprensión de los significados de maternidad y crianza desde el punto de vista de tres mujeres que ejercen el trabajo sexual desde su propia forma de expresión de cada una de ellas. Por otro lado, el diseño de investigación que se empleó fue de tipo narrativo, el instrumento utilizado fue la entrevista semi – estructurada, para luego plantear categorización de la información a través del software Atlas Ti.
