As a conclusion, the article suggests that migratory and resident birds’ conservation require an urban tree planting plan to feed those species at once and, if possible, the construction of artificial lakes to provide them with enough space for lodging. |

El artículo estudia las especies de aves migratorias neotropicales que se observan en los parques y jardines de Bogotá. Se presentan las rutas migratorias utilizadas por las aves que anidan en Norteamérica, y que durante su migración, usan la ciudad como lugar de paso o estadía. A través de dos reportes: el primero de 1945 (Borrero), y el segundo de 2005 (Echeverry), se evidencia que el número de especies observadas en parques y jardines de la ciudad se ha incrementado. Se estudian los factores de tipo ecológico, urbano y rural que fomentan la presencia de las aves en las áreas urbanas de la ciudad. Se concluye que para la conservación de las aves, tanto migratorias como residentes, es urgente la planificación de una arborización urbana que les brinde alimento, y de ser posible, la construcción de lagos artificiales.
