El uso crónico del alcohol se ha relacionado con cambios importantes en la expresión de ɑ-sinucleína, alterando el sistema de recompensa y generando daño neuronal y mitocondrial. Existen muy pocos tratamientos para esta enfermedad y los resultados son modestos, por lo que su estudio es necesario para el desarrollo de nuevas terapias. El objetivo de este estudio fue determinar el efecto de bajas dosis del etanol en células cancerígenas con diferentes esquemas de dosificación y determinar la tasa de expresión del gen de ɑ-sinucleína. Se muestra que existe una disminución en la expresión de α-sinucleína en los tratamientos con etanol.
