Laboratory tests were conducted by accelerating the degradation process through implementation of energy to the samples and simulating an degradation effect by applying heat. The results show variations in the electric variables that can be used to establish a program for reviewing the operational status of the surge arrester in electric networks. |

Un estudio experimental es llevado a cabo para determinar variaciones en las características eléctricas de los descargadores de ZnO ante el fenómeno de degradación. Las variables eléctricas examinadas son el coeficiente de no linealidad del descargador y la potencia disipada. Existen otros métodos para determinar el estado de funcionamiento de un descargador como por ejemplo el estudio de la componente resistiva de la corriente de fuga en A.C., que en todo caso no será tenido en cuenta en el presente trabajo. Los ensayos de laboratorio se realizaron acelerando el proceso de degradación mediante aplicación de energía a las muestras y simulando un efecto degradatorio mediante la aplicación de calor. Los resultados obtenidos muestran variaciones en las variables eléctricas que pueden ser utilizadas a la hora de establecer un programa de revisión del estado de funcionamiento de los descargadores de sobretensión en las redes eléctricas.
